Beauty Edition : Anastasia Beverly Hills – Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette

By now all you readers must have got the drift of what these beauty edit posts on the blog are all about. These posts are mostly about the products I use in my daily routine or for creating the makeup looks for my fashion posts. So more than the quintessential swatches and product reviews these posts are about my overall experience with the products.

Until recently I was not much into eye makeup, just a bold eyeliner and mascara were enough for me until this palette revolution hit us. I was on the lookout for an eyeshadow palette perfect for summers and the modern renaissance palette has just the right mix of warm neutrals, beautiful pinks, red and oranges.

About the product (info from website)
What it is:
An essential eye shadow collection with 14 shades in neutral to berry tones.

What it does:
A present-day take on Renaissance colors, this eye palette features 14 shades that let you create stylish, day to night looks. From the earthy yellow and ultramatte finish of Golden Ochre to Primavera’s shimmer gold with a metallic finish, this palette’s high-pigment shadows are crease and fade-resistant and are sure to bring modern elegance to your eye looks.

The palette comes in a beautiful looking pastel pink fuzzy velvet case (much like the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette) which I find is a let down as it gathers dust easily and is difficult to clean. The palette comes with a mirror and a double ended eyeshadow brush for applying and blending. The addition of the brush is good decision as it gives you more value for money. The palette is quite light and has a strong magnetic closure making it travel friendly.

Formula and Texture
This palette comes with 14 shades. The texture of the shadows is amazing. The texture of matte shadows especially in this palette is way better than any other matte shadows I have used. Pigmented, buttery soft and velvety, easy to blend but as for any eye makeup the primer step is a must before the shadow for maximum color payoff.

The shades are as below :

Tempera (beige – matte finish)
Golden Ochre (earthy yellow -matte finish)
Vermeer (iridescent shell with a metallic finish), Buon Fresco (antique lavender -matte finish),
Antique Bronze (metallic sable -satin finish),
Love Letter (raspberry -matte finish),
Cyprus Umber (dark coffee -matte finish),
Raw Sienna (neutral amber -matte finish),
Burnt Orange ( deep orange -matte finish),
Primavera (shimmery gold -matte finish),
Red Ochre (sienna -matte finish),
Venetian Red (crimson -matte finish),
Warm Taupe (earthy gray -matte finish),
Realgar (brick -matte finish)

All in all this palette is a must have in a makeup lovers vanity and is worth every penny
